World Junior Synchro Four titles swept away by Russia

From July 9-13, the Kazan Aquatics Palace was the witness of outstanding performances achieved by around 250 young synchronised swimmers on the occasion of the FINA World Junior Synchronised Swimming Championships, which saw the host nation asserted itself by winning all golds at stake.
Just as the more experienced national team, Russia's junior team was the best at home with Varvara Subbotina claiming gold in the Solo routine (173.9189 points). She proved stronger for Ukraine's Yelyzaveta Yakhno and Spain's Irene Toledano.
Veronika Kalinina and Daria Kulagina (RUS), who were also part of the squad for the Team routine, topped the Duet with 170.7455 points. Ukraine's Yana Nariezhna and Yelyzaveta Yakhno took silver and Japan was the last nation on the podium with Kirara Oya and Mashiro Yasunaga.
As expected, the young Russians also swept the Team routine title with an excellent 170.8215 points and finally, the powerhouse triumphed in the Free combination (91.9333 points), outplaying China by a small margin, while Japan ended up third.
