Qualifying In Hertzelia For the Ice Swimming Championships by WOWSA

Courtesy of WOWSAHuntington Beach, California.

Ice swimmers take it literally in South Africa.

Six tons of ice will be dumped into the Hertzelia Constantia Swimming Pool in Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, South Africa on July 26th in order to reduce water temperature to below 5°C.

With those purposefully engineered water temperatures, swimmers can enter the 500m qualifying swim for the upcoming South Africa Ice Swimming Championships as well as compete in 25m and 50m sprints for everyone.

Swimmers will qualify to compete in the 1st South Africa Ice Swimming Championships held on August 15th at
Matroosberg Private Nature Reserve.
