Um
relatório da ONU de 2014 estima que a poluição gerada pelos plásticos
espalhados pelos oceanos tenha um impacto anual na economia mundial de 11,6 mil
milhões de euros. E o problema não tem solução rápida à vida. O Banco
Mundial prevê que os resíduos sólidos urbanos do planeta vão duplicar nos
próximos 15 anos.
O Swim
Challenge Cascais – Swim For The Ocean, que se vai realizar a 7 de junho na
Praia da Duquesa, em Cascais, faz parte da Semana Azul, que fará de
Portugal a capital mundial dos oceanos, entre 1 e 8 de junho.
Consciencializar
a população para a necessidade de limpar os resíduos plásticos das praias e
rios, ao mesmo tempo responsabilizá-la no uso das praias e no contacto com os
mares é um dos objetivos primordiais do Swim Challenge Cascais – Swim For The
Ocean, em parceria com a Ocean Recovery Alliance.
O 4º
Fórum Anual Plasticidade [Plasticity Forum] será realizado no dia 8
de junho e 9 em Cascais, apenas dois dias depois da Cimeira Mundial Oceano [World
Ocean Summit], evento co-organizado pelo Governo de Portugal, em parceria com
diversas entidades internacionais.
A

going to improve in a hurry. The World Bank expects the planet’s municipal
solid waste to nearly double within 15 years, much of which will be in the form
of single-use plastic items. The Swim
Challenge Cascais - Swim For The Ocean, to be held on 7 June at Praia da
Duquesa, in Cascais, is part of the Blue Week, which will make Portugal
the world capital of the oceans, between 1 and 8 June. It's a main goal of Swim Challenge Cascais - Swim For The Ocean, in a
partnership with Ocean Recovery Alliance, make the community aware of the
need to clean plastic waste from beaches and rivers, at the same time make it
responsable when enjoying beaches and sea in contact with the sea. The 4th Annual Plasticity Forum will be held on June 8 and 9 in
Cascais, just two days after the World Ocean Summit, co-organized event by
the Government of Portugal, in partnership with various international bodies.
