Martina Grimaldi (ITA) is the European champion of the womens 25km event, finishing with a time of 5:19:14,1 h!
It was only in the last lap that a trio of women broke away from their competitors, and battles for the ultimate prize. Grimaldi however managed to pull through with a fantastic show of strength, and the silver medal was claimed by Olasz Anna (HUN). Bronze medal was won by German Angela Maurer.
